Software Engineer – C++ / C# (Experienced or Graduate Opportunity)

£18,000 - £25,000 DOE Plus Pension, Death in Service
Are you an experienced software developer looking for a challenging new role? Or are you a talented graduate (or equivalent) with strong C++ or C# skills? If so, this could be the role for you.
Our client is a leading supplier of bulk inventory management and stock reconciliation systems to the oil, gas and petro-chemical industry. An opportunity has now arisen or a Software Engineer to join their team.
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for assisting in the development of our client’s tank gauging software which is deployed on Windows. In addition you will be expected to give training and assist in deploying the products you develop at the end users’ sites, some of which are overseas.
The majority of our client’s products are traditional GUI applications that execute on customers’ computers, although there is scope for developing web applications and embedded software.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Either a degree (or equivalent) in IT, science or engineering, or software development experience, gained within a commercial environment
- Strong C++ or C# skills
- A full driving licence
As the Software Engineer, you should also be a fast learner with good communication and presentation skills, who enjoys working as part of a team.
Whilst not essential, experience with Windows Embedded, Windows Programming, and serial communications would be advantageous. Experience of SQL Server would also be beneficial to your application, as would any tank gauging experience.
